I wasn't expecting this unit to blow out a lot of cold air. I was just expecting it to emit air a little colder than ambient to reduce sharpness, and it certainly isn't more. If that was the only reason to rate it, I'd probably rate it a 3 (the thermometer says it does little or no heat reduction, but it feels a little cooler). However, the only real value of this device is that it needs to be close enough to blow air around you (i.e. there's no point in simply placing it a few feet or more apart as it won't result in any noticeable drop) room temperature).
