Review on Combustible Detector Klein Tools ET120 by Adam Walsh

Very sensitive product for gas detectors and alarms

Bought for a final leak test when installing a new gas line in the attic. Put the detector in a place with clean air, press the ON button for 3 seconds. It then performs a calibration, which takes about a minute, and starts displaying the level in high sensitivity mode. High sensitivity mode is very sensitive. Red streaks appeared as soon as I walked in the front door, just from the small amount of residual gas that had escaped from the line when replacing the pipe fittings an hour earlier. I switched it to low sensitivity mode and then it showed two red bars. When gas is detected, a continuous beep will sound. It will then beep faster as the gas concentration increases. You can also turn off the beeps with the mute button. It takes a few seconds for the red bars to lower as the gas concentration decreases. I wish it didn't have a power saving feature because I was in the deep bowels of the attic looking for a leak when it suddenly turned off. I had to get out of the attic and into the fresh air to reinitialize the calibration simply because it "saves energy". begins. Is that from the date of manufacture? I couldn't find the date anywhere on the box or the tool. Or is it the date the tool was first used? What if the tool is used very little, e.g. B. once or twice? Does it still wear out after 5 years or does it depend on how heavily the chemical sensor is used? The manufacturer should make that clearer. Here is a photo of the detector in action.
