My Intel I7 system a few years ago. It came with 4 x 4GB filling the slots. Recently I've had a lot of blue screens when death stopped when I pulled out 2 banks of RAM and left me with 8bg and it was slow. Moved cards, pulled machines from other machines in the house, but all that was accepted was 2x4GB. I saw that the price was reasonable for her, so I decided it was worth the risk. Worst case still 8gb, best case 16bg. Installed them but couldn't take out a 2 x 4 card. Guess everything was cool - everything worked fine. So now I have 24GB 2x8 2x4 and it is stable and better than the day I bought the computer. I think these cards forgive - very, very happy
