Excellent loom. Probably the most reliable knitting machine I have ever used. Bought for a good cause. However, the loom makes small hats that may not be very suitable for an older child. As a baby's first knitting machine, it couldn't be better. I just wish I could find it in a larger size because it's a great loom and the yarn doesn't snag on it at all. Speaking of yarn, the yarn I got on the loom is soft and bulky (about a size 5 yarn). I had enough for a brimmed hat. I didn't make a bobble for myself as I was sewing a hat for a little boy. You can create a project with the included yarn. This is quite a nice yarn. I usually throw away the yarn that comes with these kits. I was positively surprised. For my next projects I will use Lion's hometown. This is a great yarn count for this loom. The loom has 31 pins and is almost identical to the Darice Baby loom (light green). I will now be using this loom for all the baby hats I knit. The work goes very quickly, since the pins are smooth and smooth.
