Review on High-Performance Sigma 30mm F1.4 Art Lens πŸ“· for Canon: A Must-Have for Precision and Creative Photography by Iyhan Putra

Revainrating 4 out of 5

No complaints, I recommend to buy.

I have tested 4 lenses. With autofocus, something is clearly screwed up here: - he is unhurried, you can put up with this, after all, this is an art series, not a sport; - constant crap with misses (you can see how with every half-press of the shutter button, on a stationary object, at a distance of 1.5m and further, with a stationary camera, at an f / 1.4 hole, the depth of field zone arbitrarily shifts back and forth) I would call it "front /back focus" - FBF; - everyone who writes that the lens lathers - they have FBF, they just don’t know what it is, because. the glass here is cool, but the electronics let us down; - another incomprehensible thing is the tendency for the predominance of front or back focus in the FBF, depending on the degree of battery charge; There is only one way out - to take 2-4 shots through refocusing. Taking this lens without a native docking station does not make sense at all. With the exception of the above, the lens is just cute.

Pros
  • - resolution - he is very sharp (when he guesses with focus) - colors (it conveys color saturation well) - aperture (very good for shooting crowds or where it is forbidden to use a flash, but you can’t run with a tripod)
Cons
  • - the main drawback of this lens is the autofocus system - backlight (the glass does not fade, but begins to lose contrast, both colors and the picture as a whole), but this is not a drawback, but rather a feature

And yes, choosing between canon 50 1.4 and this lens, (for crop) for me, sigma is the best choice.
