Works the same as my short 13" antenna, no loss of FM stations in my area. When I switched from a standard 28" antenna to a 13" antenna the only loss of signal was when I was in a wooded area/trees blocking the signal and bfe rural farmland/way over there. All you had to do was find another station that was closer, no big deal. I live in Greenwood/Franklin, Indiana if that matters. It bends/bends easily in a car wash, doesn't like it look like this when you get it for the first time. and after 4 washes it still looks new. My 13" antenna eventually bent backwards and started to rust at the base after only 2 years. Installation is easy. There are no instructions in the kit and they are not needed. You simply remove the old/standard antenna with a wrench. Connect the threads of the legacy/standard antenna to the appropriate size thread adapter provided. Tighten well and securely - be careful not to strip the antenna base threads - do not unscrew - just tap lightly - done. I always apply dielectric grease to the threads to keep them from rusting and/or seizing, but it may not be necessary as I always have. After hearing others say their stump was rusting together and had to replace the entire antenna base, yes!
