The Best Fully Compostable Bags About

When looking for compostable bags, the most important criteria is whether or not they are actually compostable. Where I live in San Mateo County, California, bags and bags that end up in compost bins must be BPI (Biodegradable Foods Institute) approved, namely (look at the small black and white "Compostable" logo on one of the top ones corners of the on box). In principle this is great, but in practice we have tried many brands of fully compostable bags and ended up with bags that expired within two days. We had to double the bag in the bin and change the bag twice a week and still had to hose the bin down every week or two because something was leaking. Inefficient, unprofitable and a lot of unnecessary waste if you have to use two bags every time. And now Bag To Nature! These are the strongest biodegradable bags I've tried (and I've tried A LOT) meaning no more leaks, no more duplicate bags in the bin. I've given up hope of seeing the same performance in a 100% biodegradable bag. I still try to change the pack twice a week but if I forget it's usually fine. I've been using them for several months and I think I've only had a leak once. Hands down are the best.
