Aluminum, not steel, that's bad

The first thing I realized was that these lines are aluminum and not steel. This will lead to electrolysis on the fittings and they will soon be leaking. The aluminum also increases the outside diameter so none of the clips will fit. They also tried making the ends smaller to fit Jiffy-tite fittings but failed. Even with the new hardware, it was a game of guess-and-twist until they finally snapped shut. The curves are tight, but not enough, making it much more difficult to lay neatly. Fortunately, with 180,000 miles, this Jeep only has about a year left. If I plan on keeping it long term I would put it back in a minute and buy some good line.

Pros
  • Brake system
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
