*update* pulled out the bucket and fiddled with it and it started collecting water as I expected. Now we clean it every few days. It still doesn't seem to have the most accurate reading of humidity, but it pulls moisture out and that's important to me. Bought for use in a small bathroom that does not have an exhaust fan to reduce moisture build up. get up after the shower. It didn't reach the 25 I once set, but I thought it was at least working as it shows a humidity spike to 90 after a shower and then falls back to 30. After 2.5 weeks we worked continuously and collected only a few drops of water. Then today it never dropped below 40 and condensate appeared outside as if the device had frozen. (This has happened to us with our large dehumidifier in the basement after years of continuous use requiring the unit to be defrosted but drawing at least gallons of water from the air.) more than 2 weeks without a failure then it's obvious bad design so i am sending it back.
