Let's see how it holds up but all connections were tight when it arrived. I painted mine inside and out and just put them on a pole, I don't agree with gluing a cross fiber to the end fiber of a machined 4x4, something will do and it's this cap that will break. If you need to secure it, drive a nail into the end of the 4x4, then trim all but about 1/4 inch and press this cap onto the nail you cut.
