Great tool. I keep it in my truck in case I get stuck or have to contend with someone on the road. The extra length makes it a little more practical, but doesn't detract from its effectiveness. The edges were sharp enough out of the box, but could be made better with a little sanding. The handle is straight-grained and securely attached to the shovel with two screws. Understandably, the longer handle isn't as maneuverable as the shorter Special Forces (SF) shovel, but if you ever really need to dig a hole, you'll appreciate the added leverage of this trenching tool. Please note that the blade of this shovel is larger than that of the SF shovel and the sheath is different. Long live the republic!
