I had slow internet and the charter wanted to charge $20,000 for internet connection to my property (7.25ac). They used to use a microwave setup, but they didn't want to increase internet speeds, and there was no relief on the horizon. I found a home for a FIOS setup and now it's falling around 150/150 and couldn't be happier. It's great to join the rest of the world. I don't know why these ISPs can't do this in some of their remote areas if they don't want to run cable. The satellite is too slow and too high. You only need a straight lot line and California has a lot of hills/mountains for homes to have a straight lot line.
