Ideal for test holes in some tile patterns. When I took it to my real countertop it reached about 1/4 inch before cracking and snapping. I won't buy this again. If you're looking to cut holes in thick granite, quartz, concrete, etc. I would recommend getting one of these thinner bits. This type will grind on the surface while the thinner one actually makes the "cut". They have a lot less friction and produce a cleaner cut.
