Review on Performance-Packed Five Ten Freerider Mountain Bike Shoes for Men by Joseph Katipally

I argued for a long time about the purchase, trying to make up for it with sports shoes or my ear clips (SPD), which I don't like at all due to the technical terrain. In my opinion, the Five Ten Freeriders are as good as most claims. Having experienced BMX in my 20's I wasn't new to flat pedal skateboard style shoes and even though I turned 50 I still liked the cool look but shoes like Vans or DC just didn't work well for mtn . Cycle. My feet are getting older lol and they need support and comfort. Freeriders are comfortable, support is questionable unless the insole is swapped out for better arch support, but still pretty good. The stiffness comments some mention may be their own experience, but in my case I flex a bit and can feel the pedal, say after a long, technical ride, my feet get a bit tired at the end of the day, but overall they are they are still much stiffer than athletic shoes. Traction is excellent, but not so strong that it is impossible to change foot position. Slight jumps or rocky, steep descents no longer bother my feet when they slip or bounce off the pedal. end ends. I also didn't like the thick laces on some skate shoes. I have since switched to Expand (elastic laces) as I really like their fit with elastic laces on my hikers/runners. After making this switch I love these shoes even more as they fit snugly in the shoe yet flare up when your feet swell after a long day to relieve hot or sore spots from tight laces and best of all , no tucking or dangling shoelaces to catch a chain. or twigs/brushes along the way. These are quality shoes and I have no doubt that they will hold up well (although they are a bit overpriced so they better hold up well). Basically I'm sold. I like them and find them very comfortable, even if I go to the office from time to time (casual surroundings, working on the university campus).
