Review on ๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Apple Unibody MacBook Pro 13 Inch Glass Screen Cover Replacement by Reginald Ward

I ordered it from Revain for thirty dollars when the best I could find locally for a screen replacement was a hundred. Of course, they got the job done as well, but I figured if I could replace the hard drive, RAM, etc., I could probably do it. There are many videos online that explain how to do this. First let me say this product is excellent. It doesn't look like glass, but it doesn't look like the real thing either. Rather thin Plexiglas. It was pre-applied with glue and was easy to stick on after the old screen was taken off. I can only say positive things about the display replacement! But. My experience of removing the original cracked screen was far from easy and no different from the video. I used a very hot hair dryer on the edges. Not sure if it just wasn't hot enough (although it was too hot to touch!) or what, but trying to remove the edges from the original adhesive resulted in a lot of broken glass. When I was brave enough to use a glass suction (these things are amazing and can be bought at your local hardware store) the screen came off but the edges remained cracked and stuck. Getting all the tiny bits off the rim was an absolute nightmare. It took tweezers, a paper knife and a lot of swearing. It probably took an hour and left the LCD with two small scratches that aren't noticeable when the computer is running. So final verdict: great product, very practical to do at home instead of going away for a few days, PITA if the original screen does not come off easily. Proceed with caution.
