I got this miracle at work to connect to a netbook. That's why I can not specify the adequacy of the price. In addition to the disk from the kit, I played an Audio-CD and a DVD-R blank on it. When installed vertically, no creeps were observed. Obviously, the disadvantage 2) is associated with an unbalanced complete disk. Has pros: Nice design. Works well with Samsung N150-JA01 running Windows XP SP3. Discs DVD R DL writes normally. Its cons: 1) Short USB cable included (~40 cm from mini USB to nearest USB plug) 2) "Crawled" on the table and "howled" very loudly when installed vertically while reading the disk that came with the kit. See comment. 3) The program from the disk offers to ate the firmware from the Asus website. However, there are no old or new firmware on the site. 4) It's not clear how Asus' "Christmas tree" (program from the kit) saves energy. 5) When the drive is installed vertically, it is easy to drop it, barely hooking it with your hand. The reproducible (recorded) disc is irrevocably lost.
