Review on Smiths Adjustable Manual Knife Sharpener by David Romero

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It works! Find your angle first!

I use this on my expensive M390 steel machine. Draw a line along the blade with a felt-tip pen and make several passes as you pull, using only the weight of the knife. Adjust it until the ink on the blade scratches right on the bevel of the blade, which is an easy way to find your angle. Once you find it, just do 5-10 on each stone. Make sure your knife's shaft is straight and the blade doesn't wobble when you pull it, or you'll end up with jagged corners. This tool is great for sharpening knives that already have a blade. If you're looking for reuse, look elsewhere for the right tool for the right job! One more thing: use gentle pressure, if you press our blade too hard you will ruin it!
