I was trying to remove a pair of Shimano SPD-SL pedals from my crank using an 8mm hex bolt and ratchet wrench, but this did not budge (impossible). I gave in to buying this parking crank bolt/pedal removal tool. I managed to get rid of her, but it was difficult. It was 20 fights with one pedal. The problem for me was that the handle wasn't long enough and I needed more torque. The common way to remove a stuck pedal is to step on the pedal you want to remove and press down with your foot while pulling on the pedal wrench.
