My XC70 2004 2.5 T5 196,000 miles suddenly has an OBD2 error P2108 which is the throttle body control module. It refers to this throttle body. On the internet and reading reviews I saw that everything from its processor needs to be connected to the ECM using special software for its plug/play. I bought this just to see what would happen if it wasn't for the problem, throttle bodies don't last forever and at least I would have a new one. After installation, I first cleared the OBD2 code before disconnecting the battery. . With the engine running, I connected the battery and turned the key to 'on' for a few minutes before starting the engine, just in case the ECM needed to get used to something new. I started the engine and it's been running great ever since. I cut the latches off the old case and cracked it open. All that's inside is a stepper motor, some gears and a slip ring to read the position. There is no processor or smart inside that contains firmware that the ECM takes care of. ABSOLUTELY plug/play. And the OEM part from Volvo was Bosch with the same Bosch part number. Get one. Helpful Tip: Lift the front of the vehicle to remove the air shroud and access the screws from below. Much easier! Hope this helps someone else.
