I have had a Vitamix 5000 blender since 2000. I like it and it's indestructible. However, when preparing certain things, like guacamole or salad dressing, I liked the Magic Bullet as the blade comes off and less of the actual product is wasted as it gets caught under the blade. As you understand MB is a one time product and I burned 2 engines. After the 2nd I bought this adapter for Vitamix. I AM IN LOVE. THE! Much more powerful. I gave it 4* because I wish there were other cup shapes/sizes. The conical shape with channels inside makes it difficult to get things out. With THIS system for the old Vitamix, getting the "tune" before the engine is running is no problem. Just put on and go. It's a bit clumsy with a large "cup" around the blade, but that's minor.
