X-Rocker 5125401 2.1 Review for PS4 Users!

I bought this chair after the 20 year old chair I used to play with my PS4 Pro finally died. After seeing numerous reviews online, including some user-made videos on Youtube, I decided to buy. Here are a few notes for PS4 users before purchasing. If you are considering purchasing this chair for use with PS4, please note that while it is compatible with Bluetooth for PCs or other devices that support wireless audio, PS4 does not support this feature. . Other users will argue that all you need to do is connect a 3.5mm male-to-male cable from the seat to the PS4 controller to receive audio. While this works, it doesn't work very well. If you decide to connect audio from the controller to the chair (which I don't recommend), you'll need to disable the headset feature on PS4 and turn the volume up on the chair as loud as possible to hear anything, and even more sounds better sound than others. In games, some games sounded great (like Zen Pinball), while games that were supposed to sound good sounded muted (Assassin's Creed Syndicate sounded surprisingly bad). Playing a Blu-Ray using this method yielded the same results: some sounds were fine, but most sounded muffled, even at maximum volume, on both the PS4 and the chair. This was also true when playing Netflix, HBOGo, Hulu and Spotify. I ran a second test using a Y-cable and plugged one end into the headphone jack on the back of a Samsung TV and the other two ends into two jacks. which was then connected to a standard right/left connector long enough to attach a Y-connector to a chair. The sound was perfect without having to turn up the volume either in the PS4 headphone settings or in the chair itself. All audio from all media (including my TV) now sounds great with no distortion or fluctuations in audio levels. This is the recommended way to ensure PS4 audio works well with X-Rocker 5125401 2.1 (the worst product name discriminator). Keep in mind - the sound works fine on this chair, but not through the PS4 controller as some users claim. If you want audio to sound as intended, you'll need to hook it up through your TV or some other way (some users use an HDMI converter for audio - I can't do that, so I can't speak to the success of this method). The compromise is connecting it to the source with long cables, which might be a deal breaker for some. The only "controls" on the chair, aside from the master volume, are the bass volume, a toggle for Bluetooth connectivity, and a power button. You can also connect headphones to it and it has audio outs for additional speakers or if you want to connect other chairs to it for sound. The chair itself was easy to assemble and comfortable. It "rocks" and rotates, but reclines no further than what you see in the product image (although this isn't necessary as the backrest position is at a reasonable angle). I weigh about 180 pounds and so far have had no issues with its overall durability or comfort. Aesthetically, it looks great - a mix of faux leather and soft textiles. All in all, a worthy addition for any serious gamer. However, keep in mind how the chair should be connected to your device, especially if you intend to use it. for PS4. However, if the sound sounds great, having both the power cord and the speaker wires coming from the chair may (or may not) be the deciding factor in purchasing this item.
