When purchasing a home firewall/router, the FortiGate 30e was the obvious choice for me. We used them at work and got great results. I knew this device would also work great with my XFINITY home service. I have a Fortinet NSE 4 certificate, but you don't need that knowledge to get it working. It's actually ridiculously simple: 1) Take it out of the box, 2) Plug it in to power, 3) Plug the WAN port into your cable modem, 4) Plug one of the LAN ports into your PC. Voila, it works! Of course, if you want to do other fun things like wireless guest access, VPN, traffic shaping, etc., FortiGate does all of these brilliantly. Oh, and Fortinet is a US company. So if you need assistance, you don't have to jump through hoops. This is a sturdy little box that will last for years.
