Great for home or anyone.

I use Fortinet products for work and needed to upgrade my Ubiquiti firewall at home, so this was an easy choice. I definitely didn't buy all the licenses, but installation was easy.

Expensive but worth it.

Bought for home/office use and couldn't be happier. I love the web filtering and the ability to easily use a VPN at home when traveling. You can also set up a schedule to turn off the XBox from the network at night. Good product. Remember that you have to pay for a subscription for web filter and antivirus updates.

Great firewall! on Networking Products

Tired of the constant port scanning I wanted something better than a consumer firewall so I decided to buy this as we have a more robust version at work. It was easy to set up. blocking all the crap the internet has become from constant attempts to hack the local LAN. Now I can easily connect to an encrypted VPN at home. Haven't had to use their support yet but at work when we have it they are great. My next purchase will be their WiFi hotspots and I can finally say goodbye to the crappy…

When purchasing a home firewall/router, the FortiGate 30e was the obvious choice for me. We used them at work and got great results. I knew this device would also work great with my XFINITY home service. I have a Fortinet NSE 4 certificate, but you don't need that knowledge to get it working. It's actually ridiculously simple: 1) Take it out of the box, 2) Plug it in to power, 3) Plug the WAN port into your cable modem, 4) Plug one of the LAN ports into your PC. Voila, it works! Of course, if…

Great device and fantastic support.

I am using a few generations of Zywall. The one that replaced this Fortigate was the feature-packed Zywall USG50. It was extremely difficult to set up and had some unreliable bugs. For example, we can restore a configuration and it only stops responding to one of the static WAN IPs after about 3 hours. We restored the same configuration - no changes, and sometimes the problem went away, sometimes not. But the last straw was throughput. This remote location was supposed to get 60 Mbps, but the…
