Review on 💡 PowerBright Vc-2000J Transformer Step up/Down 2000 Watt Japan 100 or 20 Volt - Efficient Power Conversion Device by Joe Medlin

I bought this device about 2 years ago when I returned from Japan. I brought a washer-dryer combo from Japan that requires 100V/50Hz. The unit worked fine except the fuse blew twice which I found odd. The dryer section of my washer/dryer combo draws 1470 watts, which matches well with the advertised wattage of this transformer. Last weekend another fuse blew in the unit and when it was replaced it didn't work even though the gauge showed power. After opening the device, I found the following: 1) the wire to the fuse was badly rusted and looked very hot 2) when "slightly” pulling the wires to the transformer, one of the wires pulled out slightly, it seemed to me that the quality of the soldier's joints looked bad, and perhaps the quality of the soldier used was poor. I was able to reconnect with a good soldier and now the device is working. The device is not used in a high-stress, non-humidity environment, so I don't think it should have failed. This could be an accident so read other reviews before buying but also be careful.
