Not only did this screen catch dirt, it filled up with slime quickly and didn't let water seep through the mesh at all. I contacted NDS and asked why the water is standing in the pool and they said there must be a block in the actual drain line. So I squirmed and nothing blocked it. This photo shows that I removed the screen and there is still water inside. After we cleaned it with a simple green paint and finally Lysol with bath bleach, it still wasn't clean. I would have water in the pool after a week without rain. That meant rainwater flooded my foundation when it happened.
