First of all it is a great product if your settings are compatible. The manufacturer was careful not to say "works with any HDMI display," and for good reason: some devices won't complete the handshake even if you play around with firmware, drivers, cables, and permissions. I have two of these devices in my company. The first one worked like a charm because he liked the TV. The second resulted in almost four weeks of wasted time trying to get it to work. I believe it would work if we used a signal modulator to convert to analogue, but Nyrius doesn't recommend this so it's probably not worth it. I have found that the devices get quite warm so may not be recommended for extended use. Pairing is easy and should theoretically work right away. However, remember that this is not the case even if you have an expensive TV. Technical support does not offer a phone option, so you may have to wait up to 48 hours to receive an email response. I haven't tried the live chat and probably should have. However, the support staff is friendly and professional, and it will happen soon. In our scenario, we received a WiFi confirmation and a "getting data" message, but it eventually gave up and said "no signal". After many repetitions of the steps I had already gone through, it was confirmed that this was a handshake issue. What's disappointing is that you think there will be a firmware update or something to fix this known issue, but nothing is available. I'll try a USB to HDMI solution and most likely with a delay. Or try the Cable Matters alternative. Unfortunately, there aren't many options for wireless HDMI signal transmission. For the price, I expect an easier setup. I liked the product a lot, but I can't recommend it in good conscience. The product description should be updated to indicate that it may not work with some HDMI devices. A compatibility list would also help.
