Good value but NO backlight and lousy instructions

So far so good with this remote control. It seems to be made well enough. The buttons are easy to press. Definitely worth the money. It works well after programming for my Sharp portable air conditioner. The only issues that I think are minor are: 1. With the exception of the temperature gauge, most of the items on the display are small, so users over 50 should remove their reading glasses.2. The "light" is really just a mini flashlight on the end of the remote control; This is NOT a display backlight.3. In Fahrenheit display mode, the temperature typically changes by 2 degrees (perhaps because the temperature is set in ยฐC). There are major problems with the instructions: 1. The writing is so small that I could hardly read it (reading glasses again). Only the brand code table has a reasonable print size.2. The instruction to toggle the temperature display between ยฐC and ยฐF is almost hidden in the fine print at the end of the Product Introduction section.3. Neither the panel description nor any other part of the manual explains what the AC mode icons mean and I can only identify 3 of the 5 modes. At least the instructions are provided in 4 languages (French, Italian, Spanish and German) in addition to English. ) for people in several European countries, most of Latin America, and eastern Canada. (FYI, I'm in the United States.)
