Review on PaceSetter 86 2877 Performance Kat Back Exhaust by Jason Lockwood

Revainrating 4 out of 5

NOT what you expect. Before you order look for the part number

So the picture does not reflect the actual item so please google the part number. You'll get an idea of what it looks like. This is NOT a cat back system, it is a rear axle system with a single exhaust pipe and tip. The item and description are totally wrong but luckily I love it. I will say it was not plug and play for my 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. If I installed without cutting some lengths, it would ring and jingle with every little hit. I had to cut 1/2" from the front muffler pipe and 1/2" from the exhaust to make it fit. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because 4 stars means I love it. Yes. What I really like is the oval exhaust tip and the ability to change the sound of the exhaust by shortening or lengthening the tip so you can customize the sound to your liking. It's not a big difference, but noticeable. The only thing I should mention is that right out of the box the parts had a lot of "burrs" so I sanded them down. As if in a hurry, very quickly cut it off and threw it in the box, without removing the burrs. Luckily for me (and for PaceSetter) I don't mind tinkering around and making things work. It's not a re/re system in my opinion, but with a hacksaw and some patience/time it works. Extra power? I do not know. It sounds and looks MUCH better than the stock muffler and that was my goal. If it gives him a few extra horses, that's a bonus.

Pros
  • Cat back systems
Cons
  • I have no negative feelings about it everything is fine
