They are advertised as compatible with Apple and capable of fast charging, but they are not. All my fives can only be charged slowly (like in slow turtle mode). I launched new iPads and iPhones last year that are compatible with Apple chargers, but many aftermarket boxes and USB batteries don't even slow down charging from these cables, but they work with Apple's factory cables. They do most of what they're supposed to do, to be honest, except I needed them briefly to ease the strain on the cord when traveling. Without reliability and assumptions about whether they work, they are generally useless. If you want a dedicated short cable, a cheap price tag might be worth the risk. Note, however, that they clearly have issues well beyond what Apple considers a quality cable to be.
