This is my first time using metal ties. I had them attach the tree to a metal fence post. I chose metal because I thought they would last longer in the sun than plastic. Pros: They are easy to use. Just grab a pair of pliers and wire cutters to cut them off. Seems durable. The time will show. You look beautiful. minuses. They don't seem to move when zipped up, but definitely not as tight as the plastic ones. For the plastic ones, you can use a lock pick and unzip it to reuse it. As far as I can tell, once they're buttoned up, there's no turning back. You have to be a little more careful with plastic. The metal bends slightly before it is applied and if it bends it may not work. Can be cut easily.
