I bought these binoculars to complement my astronomical binoculars. They are very sharp and clear. During the day, they are great for observing nature up close. For me, the best detail was visible at around 20-50 yards. However, in an open field over 1 mile I was able to spot even small animals and look for topographical changes hidden in tall grass. It was great to scan the sky at night to determine what celestial and astrological landmarks to point my large astronomical binoculars at before adjusting. If you then share the Astrobinoglas with someone, you can continue to gaze at the stars. If this is your first pair of binoculars, you might not realize how "heavy" it is. Rather, how short will you hold them before you start seeing visible judder and blur. If you are doing medium or long-term observation, please buy a tripod adapter and tripod for more stability. These are not fakes. If you're looking to spend money on a Nikon or Ziesse kit, you're sure to have top-notch gear. But if you are looking for a quality pair of binoculars for everyday use, then these are for you. Take care of them and they will take care of you.
