I don't think any of these lid pullers work well. Tried 3-4 different models. I bought this specifically to open a 4" metal lidded can of peppers that I buy regularly for salads. You need to use a team of oxen to tighten the lid of this pepper jar at the factory. The cap is always difficult to detach. This product dented the lid when trying to remove it from the jar. So I don't know if it closes again for refrigerated storage or not. Although this device can accommodate a 4 inch diameter cap, it has external functional limits. And it gives the user very little leverage to remove the cover.
