I am tech savvy and even I have a hard time figuring out how to set an alarm. Either that or I have a defective device. And as another reviewer thought, what the heck is that white clip? The probe fits in perfectly but I don't think it will stick to the wall of a cold freezer and don't you think something that reads temperature should be 90% covered? There is no down button for setting alarm limits. If you remove the battery it will reset to the default settings and you can then use the up arrow to start setting the alarm limits again. But by default, they're around 30 degrees Fahrenheit. Lo and hello!? Hm?! It does not make sense. If only instructions could really INSTRUCT! it will dispel all doubts! Is there a sequence of key presses that would allow the user to LOWER the alarm limits?! Or mine is defective?! The accuracy on mine doesn't seem too bad for the intended function.
