Worked as intended.
I took a chance and hoped it would work and I'm glad I did. My old method was a hammer and drift. There is always a chance that the snap ring tab will break. You can use a torque screwdriver if you want to reinstall it. There is no need to buy a fancy factory tool that you can only use after it has been adapted for many cars.
