I recommend this product for sunscreen. I am an older adult male. I bought these products for martial arts - Krav Maga which used the forearms and wrists for many blocks. I was pretty hurt. I'm 5'10" and 350 pounds. The large pads fit me perfectly (wrist to elbow and protect my forearms and wrists well (I still bruise, but not bad). Since Krav Maga doesn't do a lot of high kicks used I don't know how well they will protect unlined leg entries. These are lightweight pads. The sleeves are stretchy and lightweight, the padding is soft and about 0.5" thick. As with shirt sleeves, you can adjust the sleeves up or down to find the best comfort and coverage, you'll still feel the shock, but they do cushion a little About half the sleeves are padded, so the pads need to be positioned to cover the inside or outside of the forearm protection.
