This reliable fan is battery operated. The metal frame has good breathability. I bought this due to our frequent power outages and as someone who needs greenhouse airflow to sleep this fits the bill. I particularly like that it comes with a USB power cable so I can connect it to the power bank when the batteries are low. I'm deducting a star because of the battery. This device uses unprotected 18650 Flat Top 3.7 batteries which can be problematic due to the possibility of overheating while charging, especially as the batteries age. The fan battery compartment is not large enough to accommodate 18650s with PCB (module or protection board) which are slightly longer than their exposed counterparts and would be much safer to use. I will only charge these batteries outside of the fan itself, using a good quality charger with built in protection against the possibility of overheating when charging these types of batteries. I highly recommend doing your homework on 18670 batteries before purchasing. But like I said, it's a great fan and I'm considering buying another one.
