My daughter is a sophomore in college and in the current dorm she and her roommate share a bathroom with the roommate next door. But they don't really know their "bathroom" neighbors, so they use it to keep the bathroom door locked during the day when they're not in the room and at night when they're sleeping. Very easy to set up, the only catch is that you can't use it if there is a mat in front of the bathroom door. Several other parents we met the day we moved in saw us parading with it and ordered one for their daughters too!
