I unplugged Pogoplug Mobile from my system. Pogoplug Backup has proven unreliable, at least for me. A few days ago, after running Pogoplug Backup as specified for several days, it disconnected the hard drive and after reconnecting the hard drive, it started backing up the files that I had disabled with the "Stop" option. This isn't the first time I've encountered a hard drive disconnect issue. Simultaneously with the start of previously disabled backups of "My Photos", "My Videos" and "My Music"; My desktop performance has slowed down to a minimum. I attribute the performance issue to the unscheduled execution of these three backups. Simplicity is good, and I'm not arguing with Pogoplug's 60-second setup claim. However, the configuration is a problem. There are four default backups that cannot be changed: My Documents, My Photos, My Videos, and My Music. The user can add others but gets stuck on these four. The My Documents directory on my Windows XP machine contains music and photos. Therefore, you don't need to run backups of "My Music" and "My Photos". Also, I only need regular backups of my videos. To me, including these three backups is a waste of storage. There are "Start/Stop" options, but as I understand it the user cannot trust the "STOP" option. In a past life I provided network and PC support for small to medium sized businesses and would discourage any attempt to include a pogoplug device in the system. In my experience, Pogoplug support takes too long. I tried changing the device mapping and found that my particular model didn't have the required performance. I've since pulled the unit out, put it in a box, and donated it to our local thrift store.
