If you've ever tried to cut something with a utility knife using a standard steel ruler, you know the results may not be shiny and your fingertips are very good Danger. This line is designed for such things. Due to the extrusion it is very stiff. The cutting edge is smooth and straight. It's wide enough to keep your fingers out of harm's way. And most importantly, the rubber pad prevents it from moving mid-cut. I've used it on leather and paper with both circle cutters and traditional X-Acto blades and am very happy with it. It's done on purpose.
