Junk: Flat & Thin Bottom & Sides = Chocolate Stains, Heat Uneven, Cracks Easily

My wife bought this based on overly positive reviews. During the construction, I immediately noticed that the walls are rather thin and the floor is too flat. The shape of the heart may also appeal to some, but fondue calls for a symmetrical, round vessel, preferably with a smaller and/or slightly concave bottom. Before that we had a very simple, round fondue set that worked well. We have made chocolate fondue several times and have enough experience. With that, everything went wrong from the start: 1. Due to the irregular shape, the chocolate didn't melt well (the woman uses a water bath), and closer to the middle it started to get stale. Melting was highly dependent on the specific position in the fondue maker, with a more "runny" intermediate layer, stale edges and center at the top, and a burnt center at the bottom (see below). The relatively wide flat base allowed the chocolate to burn in the center of the base; it left a small burn mark there (we used a tiny candle underneath, just like our previous fondue)3. Finally, after an hour, the pot is easy. jumped and we were left with the top part broken in two and squirting out the remaining contents. It turned out to be a one-time purchase. Stay away from it and spend a few bucks more on BOSCA's vastly improved two-layer non-flammable item.
