For the price this collar is a bargain: it works as described and includes two collars as a bonus. I didn't have to use the shock setting, my dog responds to a bell and even faster to a vibration signal. The collar allows me to walk him without a leash. I rarely charge, maybe once a week or once every two weeks. I test the ringer function before use and remember to charge it after a few hours when the ringer isn't particularly loud. This reminds me of the only (minor) flaw I found with the device: the ringer isn't very loud and I can't hear it when the dog is say 50 feet away. It can be heard in a very quiet area but not when driving nearby. So if I could make changes, I would make the call louder or let the user adjust the volume. But overall the collar works as advertised, the price makes it good value and the device makes walking the dog more comfortable.
