Our Dyson ball's power head kept shutting off. Using a straight screwdriver, I removed this part only to find the broken part. The fragment melted on the "bearing" of the brush rod. Because of this, the head overheated and turned off. I removed the melted plastic and replaced this part. It works like new. If you have never worked with a Dyson vacuum cleaner, repairing it is very easy. Many parts fit together or require few tools. It was an easy and inexpensive repair. Exactly the part I needed.
