The drive itself is fine, it's doing what it's supposed to do, which is storing my backup data. But WD's support appears to have stalled. I had an online account there for many years where I could see the products I bought from them and their warranty periods. But when I tried to login to my account to register this new drive I got the following error: INACTIVE_OWNER_OR_USER: The owner or user is inactive. Organization ID: [15 digit number] User ID: [additional 15 digit number]. After much internet searching and many calls to WD, I still haven't recovered my account. In the last message I was asked to arrange a phone call with them 24 hours in advance. I don't think it will happen.
