The previous owner of my truck was a farmer. Marmalade scratched metal [the size and width of a ruler] and began to rust. Didn't want to take it to the body shop. I cleaned the metal from rust, coated it with an anti-rust primer and bought it. Prepare the installation well and start it from above. I recommend temporarily removing the bottom door seal/strip prior to installation. I didn't do this on my first door and it was a nightmare getting the sticky side underneath without it snagging before I positioned it correctly. Go slow, don't install it on a windy day. At first they were aesthetic, but now they are also functional. Prevents my furry friend from scratching the paint when she jumps into ANS and her nails get caught on the texture. They look great and I would buy them again. for trucks. Can't rate durability yet as they're only 3 months old, but so far so good.
