Review on Intel CM8068403377415 Core I3 8100T Prcsr by Mateusz Komorowski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent quality, absolutely not expected for such a price.

The processor is great for the money. Chose primarily to achieve maximum performance per core (single-threaded performance). For me, this is the most important indicator, so I actively play mods on S. T.A. L.K. E.R. like Dead Air or Anomaly, the X-Ray Engine, as you know, does not use more than one core (roughly speaking). On the old A10-7850K processor on Zaton and Jupiter in the Dead Air mod, there were serious drawdowns up to 25-30 FPS (!) with emphasis on the core, but my new processor was able to pull out such a load, although you can still catch 55 FPS on Jupiter . Another representative of single-threaded games is Minecraft. Without modifications, the game does not manifest itself in any way, however, as soon as shaders appear, you can catch strong drawdowns, for the same reason. This processor has mostly solved this problem. Other games are also somewhat dependent on performance per core, but not as much. Ideally, for new products, of course, you need to have 6 cores (i5-9400F), but when the budget is limited, this processor is just a godsend.

Pros
  • 1. Very decent performance per core; 2. Compared to previous generations, now these are 4 full-fledged cores with turbo boost up to 4.2 GHz (almost the full equivalent of i5-7600K); 3. Low price Surprisingly, Intel processors have always been very expensive (competition is doing its job).
Cons
  • 1. The maximum supported RAM frequency is 2400 MHz, it is impossible to raise it higher without a motherboard based on the Z chipset, only reduce the timings; 2. Boxed cooling can't cope with the maximum load during Linpack's OCCT stress test. The processor has a peak power consumption of 80 W, starts throttling, there is no throttling outside stress tests, but the temperature leaves much to be desired - under 80 degrees. In general, you need a tower with at least two copper heat pipes; 3. Under the lid is not the best thermal interface (not solder), but this is already a nitpick. The main thing is good cooling from above and good thermal paste, of course.

Different pros: Adequate price Modern 4 cores! Cold with boxed cooler Different cons: You need a motherboard with socket 1151v2. Prices are creeping up, I took it for 7900, now it’s already cheaper than 10k, it’s strange .

Prots was bought for the sole purpose of ating the BIOS on the motherboard to run the Core i9 9900KF.

By adding 2, you can take Ryzen 5 6/12, but this is for those who are now building a computer from scratch

turbo boost up to 4.2 GHz is only on 1 core, the rest is a maximum of 4.0 GHz

In conjunction with fast memory, on the z390 motherboard and rx580 video for fhd gaming is more than enough.

With its pros: Nimble processor, for the money it is simply found. Got cons: For this money everything is ok.

Some pros: Cheap (was) and cheerful. Got cons: Inappropriate price increase. I took it a month ago for 10K, now it's 16.
