- 1. Very decent performance per core; 2. Compared to previous generations, now these are 4 full-fledged cores with turbo boost up to 4.2 GHz (almost the full equivalent of i5-7600K); 3. Low price Surprisingly, Intel processors have always been very expensive (competition is doing its job).
- 1. The maximum supported RAM frequency is 2400 MHz, it is impossible to raise it higher without a motherboard based on the Z chipset, only reduce the timings; 2. Boxed cooling can't cope with the maximum load during Linpack's OCCT stress test. The processor has a peak power consumption of 80 W, starts throttling, there is no throttling outside stress tests, but the temperature leaves much to be desired - under 80 degrees. In general, you need a tower with at least two copper heat pipes; 3. Under the lid is not the best thermal interface (not solder), but this is already a nitpick. The main thing is good cooling from above and good thermal paste, of course.
