Great option for undemanding scenarios. 4 physical cores. This processor made all i3 and i5 generations of Skylake and Kabylake unnecessary. As for overclocking, there is an unlocked 8350K model. I took this 8100 for my home silent server on the STX platform from Asrock with the H110 chipset. Let me emphasize: it works on 1xx and 2xx chipsets only after patching and flashing the BIOS (mainly with a programmer).
- Great solution for old motherboards with 1xx chipsets, all you need to do is flash the BIOS using CoffeeTime, nothing needs to be isolated/shorted.
