Difficulty programming login code and key fobs

The product has a solid construction and installation was fairly easy. I was having trouble programming the login code and keyfobs so thought I'd share how it was resolved. The device I received was a return from another customer. I could tell from the crumpled instruction manual that came with the product. I got the lock for a good price so it didn't bother me as long as it worked properly. First, I set about programming a new login code. I have followed the instructions several times but could not get the lock to accept the new code. I then pressed the reset button, heard a beep and programmed the new login code as instructed. Didn't take it the first time. I tried again and the code was accepted. You must ensure that you follow the instructions and have programmed the access code within 10 seconds of beginning the programming sequence. Then I went to programming key fobs. I followed the instructions, pressed the programming button on the fob, heard a beep, and then pressed the lock button on the first fob. Nothing has happened. I tried several more times without success. I remember reading the reviews that several people had similar issues while others didn't. So I figured I must be doing something wrong, and in fact I was. When going to key fob programming, you need to hold down the key fob programming button while pressing the lock button on the key fob. I've done this with both keyfobs and successfully programmed both. I installed a lock on my RV door and now we're good to go. I hope this helps someone avoid the frustration of trying to follow the programming instructions that came with the RV lock.
