Review on Extech MO55 – Dual-function Moisture Meter for Pin/Pinless Testing by Cody Stroop

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Dude, I'm disappointed in this moisture meter.

This is one of those products where you get what you pay for. I've used it 3 times and the 3rd time it only shows 0% no matter what mode it's set to. I replaced the battery, it still reads 0% even on a wet piece of drywall. I called customer service and lo and behold they also said the unit was defective after doing all the phone testing for them and they told me it was still under warranty. Then when I quit my job, go to a UPS store, wait in line, pay for the packaging, ship it back somewhere in the Northeast, wait a week to 10 days, they look at it and confirm that it really is . I do not work. they will probably send a new one. When you add in your lost work time, gas, waiting in line, time on the phone, arguing about what the device didn't do (worked), the cost of packing and shipping, the garbage and explanations put you way ahead of other potential ones Buyers who do not take the device. Good luck trying to save money and buy this. This is one of life's greatest lessons when you learn not to buy twice. David S Imhoff.
