I bought this DIR-2640 to replace my AC-1750 which I had for over 4 years. It still worked fine and I didn't want to replace it, but I did because I needed 4 networks and a stronger signal. DIR=2650 worked fine for about a month and then the download speed became unstable. In the D-Link application, the tested download speed from my modem to the router is always in the 265-285 Mbps range. First, the download speed from the router, tested with Ookla Speedtest, was 265 to 280 at 5G. Then it drops to about 50 for no apparent reason and then bounces back on again a few hours later for no apparent reason. I tested the modem before and after at router speeds and it never failed, so it's not my ISP that's the problem. At tech support they went through all the settings with me, didn't change anything and said turn off and then turn on. Sometimes good speeds lasted for days or weeks, but then, about a month ago, bad speeds became more common. Technical support is very difficult to reach and when you do they say they will call you back in 30-60 minutes. 7 hours later they call back but I'm not home. So far no help. Right now the highest download speed I'm getting is around 20Mbps.
